Fingerprints for non-policing purposes
Fingerprints for non-policing purposes include fingerprints for emigration, visas, good conduct certificates and any other reasonable request from a government, embassy or agency which is supported by official documentation requesting the provision of fingerprints (includes both UK and international requests).
Requests must be submitted in writing to ‘The Officer in Charge’ of your local Crime Scene Investigation department (see below for contact details).
You should enclose a cheque – made payable to Essex Police - or postal order for £74 if you require one set of fingerprints. If more than one set is required, each subsequent set of prints costs £36.90. Cash will also be accepted. Please include a covering letter detailing full name, address and telephone number.
Once payment has been received, a member of staff from the Crime Scene Investigation department will make contact to arrange for a Crime Scene Investigator to complete the task at a mutually convenient time.
If you have any queries regarding this process, please direct them to your nearest Crime Scene Investigation department.
