PC outcome report

A Police Constable has been the subject of a 4 day misconduct hearing beginning on 13th July 2026 and ending on 16th July 2026.

The hearing was heard by a misconduct panel, chaired by Assistant Chief Constable Morris, and two independent panel members with a legally qualified person.

The officer’s conduct was alleged to have breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour (SPB) of:

• Honesty and Integrity
• Orders and Instructions
• Discreditable Conduct 

During 2022–2023 the officer was involved in a toxic personal relationship; following arrest for alleged offences linked to that relationship, the officer was released on police bail subject to conditions of no contact with the complainant.

The panel found that, while those conditions were in force, the officer:

• met and had contact with the complainant
• maintained a personal and intimate relationship
• attempted to discuss and influence the complainant’s involvement in the criminal investigation.

The panel found these breaches of police bail constituted breaches of the SPB of Integrity and Discreditable Conduct in a manner sufficiently serious to amount to Gross Misconduct.

The hearing, was held in private due to the significant risk of harm to the officer’s health .

The panel imposed an Outcome of Dismissal without Notice.
