PC 78857 Liam Lewis will be the subject of a Misconduct Hearing commencing at 10am on Monday 20th June 2022.
The hearing will be chaired by Legally Qualified Chair Mr David Tyme.

On 12th May 2021 PC Lewis submitted an application to Essex Police under the Firearms Act 1968 to obtain a Firearms Certificate.
At the time of submitting his application for a firearms certificate PC Lewis, failed to disclose his medical history and signed a Declaration to the effect that: he was aware that the answers provided on the application form were for the purposes of obtaining a Firearms Certification, the answers were true and it was an offence to knowingly or recklessly make any statement which was false for the purpose of procuring the grant of a Firearms Certificate.
Accordingly, it is alleged that by virtue of PC Lewis’s conduct he acted in breach of the Standards of Professional Behaviour of Honesty and Integrity and that such conduct amounts to Gross Misconduct.
The Hearing is to be held at Chelmsford Civic Centre, Duke Street, Chelmsford CM1 1JE.
