Information Request
I write to you under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 requesting data in relation to the number of bike thefts recorded by Essex Police.
For each individual year from 2018 to 2023 (inclusive), please would you be able to provide information pertaining to the number of bike thefts recorded in each of Essex's 14 police districts.
For the same years and same districts, please would you be able to outline the number of bike thefts which led to successful prosecutions (i.e., how many bike thieves were caught by police and charged?).
Lastly, would you be able to outline the value of the bikes stolen for each police district in each year.

Notes
- Data is based on created date from 01/01/2018 to 31/12/2023 and where the Crime Type (HMIC Crime Tree Level 3) field is “Bicycle Theft”, broken down by district.
- Data for table 2 is for Bicycle Theft offences that were finalised as Outcome 1 / 1A (charge or summons). Data on prosecutions is held by HM Courts & Tribunals Service.
- Data for table 3 is based on the amounts recorded in the Property Item Value Amount field for Bicycle Theft offences. Not all Bicycle Theft offence records have a Property Item Value Amount recorded.
