Having completed enquiries within Essex Police in respect of Section 1(1)(a), Essex Police does hold information relating to your request, Essex Police can confirm in respect of Section 1(1)(b) the following data:

How many Detective Chief Superintendents are there in Essex Police?

As at 18 November 2021, there are five Chief Superintendents who are also accredited Detectives.  However, please note that two of these are only temporarily promoted to the Chief Superintendent rank and substantively are Superintendents.  In addition to this, there are a further two officers (who are accredited Detectives) who are currently temporarily promoted to the Assistant Chief Constable rank, so these two people are also substantively Chief Superintendents.  Finally, there is one other Temporary ACC who is accredited, who is currently seconded out of force.
