Having completed enquiries within Essex Police in respect of Section 1(1)(a), Essex Police does hold information relating to your request. Under Section 1(1)(b) the below and attached have been provided in relation to your request:
Caveats:
The data is correct as at 18 August 2021.
It is not possible to obtain the specific numbers of racial offences as that would include an overlap with a lot of offence categories and this particular offence type is not available separately on our Crime Recording systems.
The Hate Incident Type Dimension was selected to have the ‘Hate Incident – Racial’ Option as a filter.
Only Hate Crimes have been included, Hate Non-Crimes (Incidents) have been omitted.
The old Crime Recording systems do not accurately record Racist Hate Incidents, therefore, these figures are not available for the time period before 01 April 2015.
The Home Office Classification of ‘NC/10’ was used to bring back all relevant Hate Crime Offences and Records.
Set of dates:
2015/16: 01April 2015 to 31 March 2016
2016/17: 01 April 2016 to 31 March 2017
