Revoked Firearm or Shotgun Licences 2019
2019
I am writing to submit a Freedom of Information Act request for data concerning firearm and shotgun licences.
Any person who has a firearm or shotgun licence revoked by an issuing police force is entitled to appeal that revocation in court.
For the 2019 calendar year, please tell me:
1) did the force return any revoked firearm or shotgun licences to a person once the force had been notified that the former licence holder had lodged an appeal in court, but before that court case was concluded and before a judge had ruled in favour of the appellant?
2) how many a) firearm and b) shotgun licences did the force return to people who had previously had their licences revoked? (please provide a total count of licences returned, regardless of whether any appeal was lodged with a court)
3) how many a) firearm and b) shotgun licences that were returned after being revoked were returned once the former holder of the licence had lodged an appeal at court?
4) of the a) firearm and b) shotgun licences that were returned after the licence holder had lodged an appeal at court, how many were returned once that appeal was underway but before it had reached a conclusion?
For questions 2 to 4, please provide a separate count for firearms and shotguns.
