Outside of the act Essex Police can provide the following comment in relation to the work that is currently being undertaken in respect of Diversity.
Essex Police believes in dignity for all and are on a journey of incremental improvements, including how we can better include and enable the aspirations of people who are LGBTQ. Our commitment is set out in our diversity strategy, as launched on 30 November 2020, and will be further reaffirmed in mandatory staff training, covering all protected characteristics and groups in line with the Equality Act 2010. Our LGBTQ staff network helps to inform our work and this is greatly appreciated by the Chief Constable. For more information about our commitment and related activities, please write to our D&I Manager at [email protected]
