2019 to 2021
For the combined total of the 2019/20 and 2020/21 financial years please tell me which automatic camera in your area recorded the most drivers going through red lights? By which I mean which single set of traffic lights in your area had the highest total of offenders for going through a red light in that two year period.
Please state:
(a) the location of the traffic lights
(b) how many activations the camera/mechanism detected in total of vehicles going through a red light,
(c) how many of these activations resulted in a notice of intended prosecution being sent out, and
(d) how many activations did not result in a notice of intended prosecution being sent out because the vehicle had a foreign registration number.

Having completed enquiries within Essex Police in respect of Section 1(1)(a), Essex Police does hold information relating to your request, Essex Police can confirm in respect of Section 1(1)(b) the following data:
Caveat: The data is correct as at 25 September 2021.
(a) the location of the traffic lights.
Traffic Light Location - A127 Southend Arterial Road, J/W Progress Road, Southend-On-Sea.
(b) how many activations the camera/mechanism detected in total of vehicles going through a red light.
2,881 activations.
(c) how many of these activations resulted in a notice of intended prosecution being sent out.
1,694 activations.
(d) how many activations did not result in a notice of intended prosecution being sent out because the vehicle had a foreign registration number.
29 activations.
