Witness appeal after two men assaulted in Maldon High Street
We are appealing for information after two men were assaulted in Maldon High Street at around 8.50pm last night, Saturday 29 June.
One of the men, who is aged in his 20s, was knocked unconscious and has been airlifted to Addenbrooks Hospital, where he remains in a life-threatening condition.
The other man has been taken to hospital by land ambulance for his injuries, which are serious but not believed to be life-threatening.
We received information that three men were seen running away from the scene and we are making enquires to locate them.
Senior Investigating Officer DCI Daniel Stoten said: "I need to hear from anyone who was in the High Street, particularly in the areas of the Oakhouse Bar and Poundstretchers between 8pm and 9pm.
"To the three men that were involved in this incident – I know who you are. I suggest that you make contact immediately.”
