Man jailed for seven years for rape
A rapist has been jailed for seven years.
Jaroslaw Halibozek attacked the vulnerable woman inside his car at the Temple Farm Industrial Estate, off Chandlers Way in Southend, on June 9.
She tried to get away from him but he continued to attack her. She eventually managed to escape.
Halibozek, of Danbury Close, Leigh-on-Sea, was later identified and arrested.
He was charged with two counts of rape, one of attempted rape, and one of sexual assault.
The 28-year-old denied the charges and stood trial at Basildon Crown Court.
A jury returned their verdicts on Monday, December 3 and found him guilty of one count of rape. He was found not guilty of the other charges.
Halibozek was jailed for seven years.
Investigating officer DC Kevyn Steel said after the hearing: “I would like to thank the victim for showing great courage throughout the trial and for coming forward and reporting this most devastating of crimes.
“Halibozek is a sexual predator who has showed no remorse.
“This was a very difficult and complex investigation and I hope his sentence provides some comfort to the victim.”
