A woman who was seriously injured following an incident in Southend last week has died in hospital.
We were called to concerns for a woman in Bewley Court shortly after 6.30pm on Wednesday 10 November.
When we arrived we found a woman in her 20s who had sustained serious injuries having fallen from a height.
She was taken to hospital but, sadly, died there yesterday (Monday 15 November).
Following her death, our investigation is now a murder inquiry.
A 26 year-old man was arrested following the incident on suspicion of attempted murder and is currently on bail.
We are continuing to appeal for anyone who saw or heard anything or has any information about what happened.
If you have any information can submit a report online at https://www.essex.police.uk or use the 'Live Chat' button to speak to an online operator between 7am-11pm.
You can also call us on 101 and cite incident 984 of November 10.
Information can also be given to independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or https://crimestoppers-uk.org.
