Detectives have started a murder investigation after a man was found dead at an address in Westcliff.
We were called to an address in London Road shortly after 1.20pm yesterday (Sunday 13 February) to reports of a man in his 40s found injured.
Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
His death is being treated as suspicious and we have started a murder inquiry.
We now need anyone who has seen people coming or going from an address between two shops opposite Beedell Avenue to contact us.
Detective Chief Inspector Louise Metcalfe, who’s leading the investigation, said:
“I need anyone who saw anything, or has any CCTV, dash or doorbell footage for the time between Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon to come forward.
“I believe there will have been people coming and going from the address during that time and, as it is on a busy row of shops, I think someone will have seen the people we need to speak to.
“I’m also keen to speak to anyone who has witnessed any unusual activity at the address, including people going in and out, in the last week.”
DCI Metcalfe added:
“I know this incident will concern people living in the area and you will see an increased police presence as we put on extra patrols to provide reassurance.”
We need anyone who saw anything or has any CCTV, dash cam, or doorbell footage to contact us.
If you have any information you can also submit a report online or use the 'Live Chat' button to speak to an online operator between 7am-11pm.
