Abridge: Woman dies following collision

A woman has died following a collision in Abridge.
We received a call at around 6.20pm yesterday (Thursday 20 January) reporting a collision involving a car and a pedestrian.
Sadly, the pedestrian – a woman in her 50s – died at the scene.
A 61 year-old man from Ongar has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs, he is currently in custody.
We need anyone who saw anything or has any CCTV, dash cam, or doorbell footage to contact us.
