We are now in a position to release the identity of a man who died following a collision in Fairstead.
We were called to reports of a collision involving a car and two bicycles in Fairstead Road shortly before 10.30am on Sunday 9 January.
Sadly, one of the cyclists died at the scene and we’re now in a position to name him as 62 year-old Niall Kirkpatrick.
The other cyclist sustained injuries to his face.
A 65 year-old man from South Woodham Ferrers was been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving.
He has since been released under investigation.
