We are now in a position to confirm that a man has died after being involved in a collision on the M11 yesterday morning, Thursday 5 May.
We received a call shortly before 6.10am to reports of a black vehicle which had left the road between junctions 6 and 5 on the southbound carriageway.
Officers attended the scene alongside medics. Sadly, despite their best efforts, we can confirm a 22-year-old man from Ilford has now died.
His family have been informed.
Officers are currently working to establish when this happened and need anyone who saw what happened or has any dash cam footage to contact us.
In particular, we continue to appeal to anyone who was driving along that stretch of road between 2.30am and 6am.
The southbound carriage way was closed between junctions 6 and 5 and was re-opened shortly before 2pm.
