The Local Police Support Unit win IESE Public Sector Transformation award

The Local Police Support Unit (LPSU) have won a silver customer focus award at the IESE Public Sector Transformation awards.
The team were nominated for their work in bringing together the local community and partner agencies to target rural and business crime.
Under the leadership of Chief Inspector Terry Balding, LPSU is made up of several teams including the Rural Engagement Team, the new Business Crime Team and Citizen Policing.
Through their work the with Police Fire Crime Commissioner and partners such as Essex Chambers of Commerce and the National Farmers Union they have achieved clear communication channels, joint working strategies and solutions.
Chief Inspector Terry Balding said: “Thanks to the hard work and dedication from the team we have seen an increase in active engagement from both the rural and business communities.
“This joint approach leads to more crimes being solved and helps to create stronger communities who are better equipped with crime prevention measures.
“I would like to thank our partners and the communities we serve who have helped build these relationships, it is by working together we can make a difference.
“Our approach has led to dedicated teams for rural and business communities who have specialist skills and understanding, meaning they can truly make an impact and help those who need it.”
