Man charged following malicious comms investigation

A man has been charged in connection with allegations of harassment and malicious communications following an investigation by officers who protect the public from some of the county’s most dangerous offenders.
It relates to reports of messages received by one man in Southend between September and December last year, another man in Southend in February and March this year, and a woman in Brentwood in April this year, as well as messages posted on social media.
Wayne Kavanagh, 29, of St Loyes Street, Bedford was arrested yesterday following an investigation by co-ordinated by the Management of Sexual Offenders and Violent Offenders team (MOSOVO).
He has been charged with malicious communications, two counts of breaching a restraining order, and two counts of possessing an unauthorised item in prison.
He is due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court today (Wednesday 13 May).
