A woman will appear at court this morning charged with murder.
Cheryl Banks, 60, of Lenmore Avenue in Grays will appear at Southend Magistrates’ Court this morning, Thursday 24 June.
It follows the death of a woman in her 80s at an address in Grays on Monday 21 June.
Detectives investigating the death of a woman in Grays are continuing their enquiries.
We had been called to an address in Lenmore Avenue shortly after 5pm yesterday (Monday 21 June) to reports a woman in her 80s had been found unresponsive.
Sadly, she died at the scene.
A 60 year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of murder.
She and the victim are known to each other.
A forensic post-mortem examination was carried out this morning but further tests are needed to determine a cause of death.
Officers have been carrying out enquiries today and are continuing to do so.
