A 19 year-old woman has appeared in court charged in connection with a serious collision in Canewdon where a teenager sustained life-threatening injuries.
It was reported a black Ford Fiesta had left Creeksea Ferry Road at around 1.50am on Saturday 3 April and come to stop in a ditch.
An 18 year-old woman sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.
Louisse Chism, 19, of Broomfield Avenue, Leigh-on-Sea has now been charged with:
• causing serious injury by dangerous driving; • failing to stop following a collision; • failing to report a collision, driving without insurance; • driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence; • careless driving; • failing to give information relating to the identification of the driver when required.
She appeared at Southend Magistrates’ Court on 25 October and is next due to appear at Basildon Crown Court on 22 November.
