A man who died following a collision in Basildon has been provisionally identified by Essex Police as 20-year-old Jay Kitching.
Our officers were called at 9.40pm on Tuesday 15 February to reports of a single vehicle collision in Cranes Farm Road involving a black BMW.
Sadly the driver of the BMW, Jay, died.
Paying tribute, Jay’s family said:
“Jay was a much loved son, brother, partner, grandson, nephew and cousin.
“Jay was a kind, caring, loveable young man. His smile was infectious to those around him.
“His love of cars was endless. You couldn’t have a conversation without it involving something to do with them.
“Jay will be hugely missed by all of his family and friends.”
We need anyone who witnessed the collision but has not yet spoken with our officers to contact us.
We would also like to hear from anyone who has any dash cam footage.
