A man has been charged after another man was left in a life-threatening condition after an assault which took place in Colchester.
Officers were alerted to reports of a disturbance shortly before 4.20am on Saturday 28 August, in St Botolph’s Street.
A man aged in his 40s was found near the junction with Queen Street. He was taken to hospital in a critical condition.
Thankfully the victim is no longer in a life-threatening condition but still remains in hospital.
Detectives have now charged a man in connection with the incident.
Jacob Wilson, 21, of Erle Havard Road, West Bergholt, has been charged with GBH with intent.
He has been bailed to attend Colchester Magistrates’ Court on February 8.
Three other people arrested in connection with the investigation will face no further action.
