A boy has been charged as part of an investigation into reports of a firearm being discharged.
We were called to reports of firearm discharged in Harvey Gardens, Loughton at around 2.35pm on Saturday 18 June.
An investigation into the incident was then launched.
Thankfully, no-one was injured.
A short time later, we discovered a vehicle, a Ford S-Max, which we believe to have been involved in the incident, in New Farm Drive, Abridge.
A 17-year-old boy from the Loughton area has been charged with conspiracy to possess a firearm with intent to endanger life.
He appeared at Southend Youth Court on Tuesday 5 July. No pleas were entered and he was remanded into custody to appear at Basildon Crown Court on August 2.
Two other people were arrested in connection with the incident and have been released on bail until next month.
Our enquiries into the incident are ongoing and we continue to appeal for anyone who saw anything or has any CCTV, dash cam, or doorbell footage of the incident in Harvey Gardens, Loughton, or in New Farm Drive, Abridge, where the vehicle was found, to contact us.
