You can spot the dog and the uniformed police officer but can you spot the plain-clothes police officers? Or the drone?
Whether you are jetting off on your holidays or meeting someone flying in, our team at Stansted Airport are always looking out for you to make sure you have a safe trip.
Did you know that, as well as patrolling in and around the airport terminal, we also deploy uniformed and plain-clothes officers under Project Servator.
This sees our airport team working with specialist officers – such as dog handlers, drone pilots and firearms officers – as well as airport security, businesses and retail staff to detect, deter and disrupt criminal activity and those intent on causing harm.
“Project Servator sees us operate highly-visible patrols around the airport but we also use other policing tactics, too.
“It’s all planned so don’t be alarmed, we are here to keep you safe.
“Our activity is designed to be unpredictable and the frequency varies, so you’ll never know when we might pop up but, when we do, please come over and ask us any questions you may have or just say hello.
“We deploy Project Servator patrols according to information we receive from our officers, our partners at the airport and from passengers and other airport users.
“We can’t do it without your help so, if you see anything you feel is suspicious or something just doesn’t feel right, do tell a member of airport security or a police officer.
“If it’s an emergency or a crime in progress, call 999.”
