The family of a “devoted family man” and “passionate West Ham” fan who died following a collision in Loughton have paid tribute to their “true gentleman”
Forty-seven-year-old Mark Tuthill was in a collision with a black Mercedes S350 in Alderton Hill, Loughton shortly after 2.25pm on 10 March as he crossed the road.
He sustained a broken leg and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Following surgery, he was released from hospital but, sadly, died on 20 April.
Mark’s family described him as “a very devoted family man who loved spending time with his sister, nephew and nieces.”
They spoke of how Mark “adored his mum” and how he was there for her, “always.”
As a person, Mark was a “true gentleman” and “very kind and loving and always smiling and laughing.” They spoke with pride when they said he “touched the heart of everyone he met.”
Mark was a passionate West Ham United fan who never missed a game.
The family went on to say how they all “miss him so much” and how Mark “will leave a huge void in so many people’s lives”.
“Mark will always be loved and greatly missed by everyone who knew him.”
Officers continue to appeal for witnesses to the collision as they progress enquires into this incident.
A 62 year-old man from Chingford is helping Police with their enquires into an offence of causing death by careless driving.
We are particularly keen to speak with the driver of a silver Mercedes GLA that was driving behind the bin lorry in Alderton Hill at the time of the collision.
