Southend: Five to be charged in Adventure Island disturbance

Five people are due to appear in court to be charged in connection with a disturbance at Adventure Island, in Southend.

We were called shortly before 4.40pm on Friday 20 August, with reports of a disturbance at Adventure Island, in Western Esplanade.

During the incident, a security worker at the venue and two police officers reported being assaulted.

Five people have now been postal requisitioned to appear at Southend Magistrates’ Court on March 7 to be charged.

They are:

• Reice Ogunsanya, 24, of Loughborough Park, in London will be charged with affray.
• A 16-year-old boy from London will be charged with assault of a police officer.
• Devon Martin, 29, will be charged with affray and assault.
• Shamarl Thompson, 18, of Angell Road, London, will be charged with assault, affray and possession of a bladed article in a public place.
• Oraine Steadman, 29, of Angell Road, London, will be charged with assault and affray.
