Following the proclamation of His Majesty King Charles III, Deputy Chief Constable Andy Prophet, on behalf of all of the officers and staff of Essex Police, has pledged his allegiance to the King.
He said: “It is our greatest privilege and duty to serve the King.
“We will continue in our duty and commitment to serve the people of Essex, keeping them safe and catching criminals.
“We will also continue to honour, and be grateful for, the life of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. We will give ourselves no pause in our duty, as she herself never gave pause for duty.”
A Proclamation event took place today, Sunday 11 September, at Essex Police’s Chelmsford Headquarters.
Union flags across Essex Police buildings will return to half-mast this afternoon – as they will across the country – following yesterday’s rise to full mast to mark the day of the Accession Council.
Essex Police officers have also joined our communities by attending Proclamation events in towns and cities across the county.
