A further man has been charged in connection with a serious assault in Colchester last weekend.
Officers were called to Magdalen Street at around 11pm on Friday, 31 March following reports of a man sustaining stab wounds.
He was taken to hospital, where he remains in a serious condition.
Officers have made four arrests in connection with this assault and already charged Joseph Little, 18 of St Marys Close, Panfield with attempted murder, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, Criminal Damage and affray.
This morning, another man was charged with attempted murder.
Zak Henry, 18 of Maple Court, Cambridge has been charged with attempted murder. He will appear at Chelmsford Magistrates Court on Saturday, 8 April.
Two other arrested have been bailed pending further investigation.
A man has been charged in connection with an incident in Colchester at the weekend where a man sustained stab wounds.
The victim, who’s in his 30s, was found injured in Magdalen Street at around 11pm on Friday (31 March).
He was taken to hospital in a serious condition.
An 18 year-old man was arrested shortly afterwards.
Joseph Little, of St Marys Close, Panfield, has now been charged with attempted murder, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, possession with intent to supply a Class A drug, criminal damage, and affray.
He’s due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court today (Wednesday 5 April).
Two other people arrested – an 18 year-old man and a 16 year-old boy – have been released on bail until 12 June.
District Commander for Colchester, Chief Inspector Colin Cox, said:
“I know this incident will have caused concern but Colchester is a safe place.
“We continue to work hard to target violence in all its forms”.
Detectives investigating an assault in Colchester where a man sustained two stab wounds have made two further arrests.
We were called to reports of a disturbance in Magdalen Street shortly after 11pm on Friday (31 March).
When officers arrived at the scene they found a man with an injuries to his chest and arm.
He was taken to hospital where he was in a serious condition.
An 18 year-old man from Panfield was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, possession of an offensive weapon, and criminal damage.
He remains in custody.
Yesterday (Sunday 2 April) officers arrested a 16 year-old boy from Cambridgeshire on suspicion of attempted murder and an 18 year-old man of no fixed address on suspicion attempted murder.
They are also both in custody.
We believe the incident was deliberately directed towards the victim and it poses no risk to the wider public.
To provide reassurance to the community, additional high visibility patrols have been taking place.

He was taken to hospital where he was in a serious condition.
An 18 year-old man from Panfield has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, possession of an offensive weapon, and criminal damage.
He is currently in custody.
At this stage we believe this was a targeted attack but we are putting on additional high visibility patrols for reassurance.
