Benfleet: Two charged following assault

Two men have been charged in connection with an assault in Benfleet back in July.
A man in his 20s sustained a serious injury to his face during the incident at at the Hoy and Helmet pub in the High Street.
He was left needing hospital treatment.
Castle Point and Rochford CID have been investigating and made two arrests.
Twenty-four year-old Alfie Anderson, of Waarden Road, Canvey Island has now been charged with GBH with intent and affray.
Craig Wood, 25, of Elder Tree Road, Canvey Island, has been charged with affray and criminal damage.
They both appeared at Southend Magistrates’ Court on 23 August and are next due to appear at Basildon Crown Court on 20 September.
