A motor home which was stolen from a home on Canvey Island was recovered within 30 minutes of the theft being reported to us.
We were alerted to the incident shortly before 10.15pm last night, Wednesday 30 August.
As a result of quick enquiries, officers were able to identify a vehicle on the London-bound A13 at 10.45pm.
Officers were then able to stop the vehicle and confirm it as the stolen vehicle.
A 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, fraud associated with vehicle or driver records and theft from a vehicle.
He has been released on conditional bail until November whilst fast-paced enquiries continue.
Supt Phil Stinger, of our operational policing command, said:
“In Essex, we know how much people value their vehicles and we are always determined to reunite stolen vehicles with their owners. Indeed, we also aim to do that as quickly as possible
“We will always use all information available to us to locate stolen goods and reunite them with their owners.”
