Officers quickly on the scene of an assault in Harlow made four arrests thanks to fast-paced enquiries.
We were called by our ambulance service colleagues to reports of an assault in the area of The High, Harlow, shortly before 12.10pm today (Monday 7 August).
Our officers were on the scene within five minutes and found two people had suffered injuries which are not life-threatening or life-changing.
Within an hour, after some fast-paced enquiries, searches of the vicinity and CCTV checks, we made four arrests.
This incident is believed to be an isolated case of disorder with no wider threats to the community.
Four males are in custody and will be questioned on suspicion of assault and affray offences.
Chief Inspector Paul Austin, Harlow district commander, said:
“We are dedicated to ensuring where incidents of disorder do occur, we have officers available within the area to react quickly and keep people safe.
“My officers regularly carry our proactive patrols in Harlow and maintain good links with businesses and communities in the town centre.
“These strong ties helped us to quickly identify persons of interest following this incident and make four arrests.
“I would continue to ask for anyone who may have witnessed this incident to come forward.
“Your report to us could provide vital information to assist with our ongoing enquiries.”
