Leigh-on-Sea: Arson investigation

Detectives are treating a fire at an address in Leigh-on-Sea this morning as arson.

We were called at 4am this morning to reports of a fire which damaged the front door of an address in Eastwood Road.

We believe it was started deliberately and are treating it as arson.

We also believe this is a targeted attack and through our initial inquiries we believe it is linked to an incident earlier in the night at the Woodcutters Arms where a fight broke out involving a number of people.

This happened shortly before 11.50pm last night (Friday 18 August).
