Officers are appealing for any additional information that can help identify a suspect after a car failed to stop for police in Southend.
About 3am in London Road on Tuesday 29 August, a driver was signalled to stop by officers and continued to drive.
After a pursuit into a residential area in the city, two occupants of the car left the vehicle on foot.
One man has now been arrested.
We also returned the vehicle to the registered owner’s address, where the occupant confirmed it had been stolen previously.
Acting Superintendent Dan McHugh Head of Operational Policing for the South of Essex said:
“Our officers don’t just respond to emergencies – we catch criminals, we make arrests and reunite victims with their property. Our officers are incredibly talented, dedicated and committed to serving the public. ”
Now officers are asking for any information that will help them identify a second suspect. Anyone with information, or that may have doorbell or dashcam footage in Byrne Drive and the surrounding area, should contact us with incident number 90 of Tuesday 29 August.
