Quick-acting officers make two arrests following a disturbance in Westcliff.
We were called around 7.15pm on Wednesday 2 August to reports of a disturbance at London Road, Westcliff.
Officers responded quickly and located a teenage boy who had been stabbed, sustaining a leg injury that required hospital treatment.
Officers detained two teenage boys in the vicinity, both arrested on suspicion of GBH.
They have since been released on bail until 29 October.
Chief Inspector Jo Collins said:
“Officers were on scene very quickly leading to two arrests and the recovery of a knife believed to be used in this serious assault.
“We have already carried out initial enquiries to establish what happened in the lead up to this incident and spoken to several people, but we want anyone who has not already spoken to us and knows something that could help our investigation, to contact us.
“It would have been a shocking incident for anyone to witness, but we don’t believe that there are any concerns for the wider public.”
