The Essex Police Community Choir is getting together with the Essex Police Band for what will be a bumper concert this Christmas.
The concert will take place on Saturday 16 December at Christ Church, New London Road, Chelmsford, CM2 0AW.
Starting at 7.00pm, the evening event will be packed with Christmas songs from both the newly re-branded Essex Police Community Choir and the Essex Police Band – a pairing that doesn’t happen very often.
We promise there’s something for everyone, including mandatory audience participation during Christmas carols!
This year, the concert will also give charity, ‘Embrace – Supporting Child Victims of Crime’, a platform to introduce itself and raise money for this very worthy cause.
Tickets are available via [email protected], on the door, or with a small booking fee on the Eventbrite.co.uk website.
Cost is £10 for adults, £5 for children 5-16 years old and free for under 5s.
The Essex Police Community Choir is open to the public and to anyone who likes to sing. They rehearse each Tuesday at Essex Police HQ between 7.30-9.30pm.
If anyone is interested in coming along to see what it’s like, they can contact the choir through our website.
Just like the choir, Essex Police Band is not just for serving officers or staff but is open to the public. The band currently have vacancies for cornets, Bb bass and tuned percussion and we’d particularly encourage anyone who can play a brass instrument or percussion to the minimum standard of grade 5 to get in touch.
Formed in 1966, from a small group of serving officers, the band has grown considerably and has enjoyed playing both nationally and internationally, including for royalty at the Royal Flower Show, Sandringham.
