Last week we introduced you to some of the very hardworking dogs who are part of the Essex Police family.
Our Dog Unit is a team of specialist officers who provide round the clock support to colleagues across our county in incidents where they may need dogs to undertake searches. Our dogs are specially trained to find items like drugs, explosives, and money.
The police officers who work with dogs are known as dog handlers and they build a wonderful relationship between the pair, based on trust.
Our dogs, and their handlers, will continue to patrol the county over Christmas, into the New Year and beyond.
We’d like to thank Police Dogs Bella, Buddy, Armour, Max, Chip, Chase, Oreo, Pablo and Max and all their four-legged colleagues for all their hard work and dedication to keeping our communities safe and wish them a happy and successful New Year.
