Detectives investigating the death of Terry Leeks in Basildon have charged two people with manslaughter.
Forty-six year-old Terry was fatally assaulted in Northlands Park at around 1.30am on 11 July 2021.
Bailey Taylor, 20, of Craylands, Basildon and a 16 year-old boy were arrested yesterday (Thursday 16 February) and charged with manslaughter and robbery.
They appeared at Southend Magistrates’ Court today (Friday 17 February) and are next due to appear at Basildon Crown Court on 17 March.
We are continuing to appeal for information about Terry’s death.
A £20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for Terry’s death is still in place by the independent charity Crimestoppers.
