Detectives investigating a GBH assault in Benfleet are asking for witnesses to contact us.
The assault was reported to have taken place in the Aldi car park, Rushbottom Lane, at around 1.15pm on Tuesday 7 February.
Following an altercation with a man in the car park, the victim, 70s, was punched to the face and head, causing visible bruising and a serious back injury.
The suspect then left the location in a black Jaguar car.
