Southend: Appeal after man stabbed

We’re investigating a serious incident during which a man sustained a number of stab wounds in Southend yesterday evening, Friday 24 February.

We were alerted to the incident, at the junction of York Road and Wesley Road, in the city, shortly before 6.30pm.

We now know the incident took place at about 6.05pm.

The victim, a man aged in his 20s, was confronted by a group of people. During the disturbance, he sustained a number of stab wounds. Thankfully, his injuries are not considered life-threatening.

No arrests have been made and our enquiries are ongoing.

We’re appealing for people living in York Road, Wesley Road, Albert Road, Stanley Road and St Leonard’s Road to check any doorbell, dash cam or CCTV footage they may have of the area between 5.45pm and 6.15pm.
