Two teenagers have been arrested after our officers responded quickly to reports of robberies at Lakeside on Friday (3 February)
We received reports of incidents between 7.30pm and 8.10pm in which mobile phones were taken.
A 15 year-old boy from Dagenham was later arrested on suspicion of robbery, possession of a Class B or C drug, and counterfeit currency.
A 16 year-old boy from Grays was arrested on suspicion of robbery.
They have both been released on bail until 18 April.
Acting Inspector Rob Thompson said:
“We have an excellent partnership with Lakeside and it is that relationship which means we are able to quickly respond to incidents like this.
“We’re working hard with them to ensure you safe when shopping, eating, or enjoying a night out at the shopping centre.”
