Officers from our Operational Support Group (OSG) made another eight arrests yesterday as they continue their work to help keep you safe.
Deployed across the county they assisted in the execution of a drugs warrant, made proactive arrest attempts targeting high harm offenders, and carrying out vehicle stops.
In total they made eight arrests for drugs, child abuse, and weapons offences.
The OSG supports different teams across the force to carry out activity which ranges from high visibility proactive patrols in our communities and proactive targeting of criminals using our roads, to executing warrants and making proactive arrest attempts targeting those intent on causing harm.
Chief Inspector Richard Baxter, who leads the OSG, said:
“The variety of work carried out by my team yesterday shows how impactive they are in supporting other teams around the force to keep the public safe.
“Their work is really important in helping people, keeping people safe, tackling crime.
“And they’ll be out across the county doing the same thing today. Our work never stops and we are relentless in our efforts to protect our communities.”
