A man has been arrested on suspicion of a range offences after officers identified a vehicle believed to have been involved in an aggravated burglary.
A grey Jaguar F Pace failed to stop for officers in Runwell at around 7pm yesterday (Tuesday 25 July) who then carried out a short pursuit.
The vehicle stopped in Vera Road, Billericay where the driver got out and made off.
A 19 year-old man from Romford was arrested a short distance away.
It was identified that the vehicle was linked to an aggravated burglary in High
Easter Road, Barston on 28 June where three men had entered an address, threatened the person inside and stolen an off-road bike.
Officers have also identified that the Jaguar itself was on stolen number plates and had been stolen from an address in Ashington Road, Rochford six days before the aggravated burglary (22 June).
The arrested man is custody being questioned on suspicion of dangerous driving, aggravated burglary, theft of a motor vehicle, and failing to stop when directed.
