A man has been arrested in connection with an attempted burglary in Braintree.
We were called to reports someone had thrown a hammer through the window of an address in Warren Road shortly before 2.20am today (Monday 10 July).
Officers attended and carried out a search of the area but were unable to locate anyone.
We received a further call later in the morning stating the suspect had returned to the area and officers attended and searched the area.
A 45 year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary and is currently in custody.
