Four men have been charged after a violent incident at a home Loughton.
We received a number of calls reporting a group of armed men breaking into a property in Queens Road, shortly after 6.20am on Friday 21 July.
Three people were in the home, two of whom were assaulted. Thankfully, their injuries are not life-threatening or life-changing.
The group left the scene in a vehicle. As a result of quick enquiries, that vehicle was able to be tracked.
A vehicle was subsequently stopped in Staffordshire and four men were arrested and taken to Essex for questioning.
As part of our investigation, four men have now been charged.
Mohammed Fathi, 22, of Meltham Avenue, Manchester is charged with aggravated burglary, affray and possessing a knife or bladed article in a public place.
Bailey Ruscoe, 21, of Elliston Square, Manchester is charged with aggravated burglary, affray and possessing a knife or bladed article in a public place.
Peter Clegg, 20, of Wrenbury Crescent, Stockport, is charged with aggravated burglary and possessing a knife or bladed article in a public place.
Kai Hurst, 20, of Pickmere Road, Wilmslow, is charged with aggravated burglary, affray and possessing a knife or bladed article in a public place.
They will appear at Southend Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, Monday 24 July.
Chief Inspector Tony Atkin said:
“This was a violent incident, which thankfully did not result any any serious injury, though the victims are very understandably shaken by it.
“These arrests were the result of incredibly work quick time across a number of police forces in the early hours of Friday morning.
“It is significant that we have received authorisation from the Crown Prosecution Service to charge the four men and they will each appear in court on Monday.”
