A man has been charged as part of an ongoing investigation into child sexual abuse.
Officers attended an address in Hill Road, Dovercourt, yesterday, Saturday 22 July shortly before 3pm.
Once in the property, a man aged in his 60s was arrested on suspicion of child abuse offences.
He was taken into custody and questioned.
This morning, Sunday 23 July, Christopher Wren, 68, of Hill Road, Dovercourt, has been charged with engaging in sexual activity with a child aged under 13.
He is due to appear in Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, Monday 24 July.
There will continue to be a policing presence in Hill Road in the coming days whilst our investigation progresses and we thank the surrounding community for their patience.
