A fast-paced investigation from our officers, including our Organised Immigration Crime Team has resulted in a man being charged with offences in breaching immigration laws.
Officers were called to Tilbury Port on Tuesday, 25 July following reports of concerns for people located in a lorry trailer. The 21 people, including eight juveniles and one pregnant woman received a medical check and were deemed safe and well.
A man was arrested at the scene.
Alexandru Vasile, 27 of no fixed abode has since been charged with Section 25 Immigration Act- assisting unlawful immigration into the UK. He will next appear at Basildon Crown Court on 24 August.
