An investigation was launched on Thursday, 1 June following reports of four knifepoint robberies within a five-hour period, where the suspects had stolen items including phones and scooters.
On Sunday, 4 June another robbery was reported to us in Wickford. The victim was inside a chicken job on Wickford High Street when they were approached by four boys who stole his phone.
Due to similarities in the suspect descriptions, the incidents were treated as linked and yesterday, investigating officers made an arrest.
A 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of five counts of robbery and remains in custody.
