Officers investigating a serious assault in Colchester over the weekend have made an arrest.
We responded to reports of an assault in Osborne Street, Colchester, after receiving a call shortly before 2.40am on Sunday 11 June.
The victim, a man in his 20s, suffered a serious head injury and is receiving treatment in hospital.
A 26-year-old man, from Colchester, has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.
He remains in custody for questioning.
Detective Inspector Timothy Coyles, of Colchester CID, said:
“This was an isolated incident with no wider threat to the public, but we do continue to appeal for anyone who may have any information which could assist our investigation to come forward."
