Officers from our Operational Support Group (OSG) made eight arrests yesterday as part of their work to protect you from those intent on causing harm.
Supporting a number of different teams from across the force, they carried out a range of activities such as planned arrest attempts, proactive stops, and responding to incidents.
In total they made eight arrests including in connection with investigations into rape, child sexual offences, robbery, and aggravated burglary.
They stopped and seized three vehicles because the driver did not have any insurance.
Chief Inspector Anna Granger said:
“The work the OSG carries out is really important in protecting people and getting some of those suspected of some of the most serious crimes into custody.
“Yesterday was a very successful day of work across the county and shows the variety of activity they carry out.
“And they’ll be out in communities throughout Essex doing it again today to keep you safe and tackle crime.”
