Officers investigating the burglary of sheds in Canvey have made an arrest.
The arrest comes after a victim reported two sheds had been broken into, in Linden Way, Canvey, in the early hours of Tuesday 7 November.
Items, including a toolbox, were taken from inside.
As part of a thorough investigation, including reviewing CCTV and gathering intelligence, officers made an arrest today (Tuesday 21 November).
A 21-year-old man, from Canvey, remains in custody for questioning on suspicion of burglary.
Our investigation continues.
Chief Inspector Paul Hogben, Castle Point and Rochford district commander, said:
“We know there has been a level of concern over a recent series of burglaries of sheds in the Canvey area.
“These matters are an absolute priority for my team, as we know the impact of theft and burglary is far-reaching and often devastating.
“Our investigation has progressed quickly as we look to build up a picture of where we are seeing issues arise, and to stop those responsible.
“We are continuing our enquiries and I would ask anyone with any concerns or information to get in touch with us. We rely on our good links with the community in Canvey to ensure we keep momentum in tackling the issues which matter to residents most.”
